The Occupational Certificate: Freight Handler prepares learners with the knowledge, practical skills and workplace experience required to safely and efficiently manage freight throughout
the logistics and supply chain process. The programme focuses on receiving, storing, picking, reconciling and dispatching freight while ensuring compliance with workplace procedures,
customer requirements, quality standards and relevant legislation.
Learners develop the competencies needed to operate in warehousing, distribution, freight forwarding, courier, airfreight, port operations and other logistics environments through a combination of classroom learning, practical training and structured workplace experience.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must have a National Senior Certificate (NSC), Senior Certificate (SC), National
Certificate (Vocational) [NC(V)] or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 2. Learners are also
required to complete the prescribed workplace experience and successfully pass the External
Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA) before the occupational certificate can be awarded.
